SPCS Mediation Workshop – Bridging the Gap: Communicating with Your Teen (05.23.2026 and 05.30.2026)

The SPCS PTA successfully organised a two-day Mediation Workshop, “Bridging the Gap: Communicating with Your Teen,” on 23 May and 30 May 2026, warmly attended by 60 parents . This interactive programme was designed to support parents in strengthening communication and building deeper connections with their teenage daughters.

Partnering with the Hong Kong Mediation Society (HKMS), the workshop provided professional guidance and practical tools to help parents transform everyday conflicts into opportunities for understanding and growth.

The workshop aimed to equip parents with effective communication and conflict-resolution skills through a collaborative and experiential learning approach. Parents explored ways to better understand the emotional, academic, and social pressures faced by adolescents, while developing constructive dialogue techniques that foster trust, mutual respect, and long-term family harmony.

Unlike traditional seminars, the workshop adopted a highly interactive format, featuring guided reflections, role-play scenarios, and small-group discussions. Parents actively participated and exchanged valuable experiences, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Optional open discussion sessions further enriched the learning experience.

With enthusiastic participation from 60 parents, the workshop fostered meaningful dialogue and collaboration among families. Many parents appreciated the practical nature of the sessions and the opportunity to reflect on their own communication styles. The presence of both fathers and mothers also helped promote a more consistent and harmonious approach within families.

The PTA would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Hong Kong Mediation Society (HKMS) for their expert facilitation and guidance throughout the workshop. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the School for their strong support and collaboration, which played a vital role in making this workshop possible. Lastly, we thank all participating parents for their active engagement, openness in sharing, and commitment to strengthening family relationships.

This workshop marks an important step in our ongoing commitment to parent education and family well-being. The PTA will continue to organise meaningful programmes to support parents in navigating the challenges of raising adolescents in today’s fast-paced environment. We look forward to your continued support and participation in future PTA initiatives.
