The SPCS PTA Parent Seminar 2026 was successfully held on 27 June 2026 at St. Paul’s Convent School, drawing an enthusiastic attendance of around 100 parents and students. The seminar provided a valuable platform for families to gain insights into two important aspects of their daughters’ development: emotional well-being during adolescence and planning for future study and career pathways.
We were delighted to welcome Mr. Rex Wu (胡君孟院長), a parent education expert and registered psychological consultant with over 22 years of counselling experience. Through his engaging and insightful presentation, Mr. Wu helped parents better understand the emotional characteristics of adolescents and the challenges they may face during their teenage years. He shared practical strategies for distinguishing between normal emotional fluctuations and symptoms of depression, while introducing effective approaches for supporting teenagers in managing their emotions and building resilience. His thought-provoking examples and professional advice resonated strongly with parents and encouraged meaningful reflection on the importance of emotional well-being and healthy communication within the family.
The seminar continued with an inspiring presentation by Mr. Anthony Che (車弘健先生), National Committee Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), who shared his perspectives on national development and the exciting opportunities emerging from the Greater Bay Area. Mr. Che encouraged parents and students to adopt a broader and more forward-looking perspective when considering future educational and career pathways. He highlighted the unique advantages and opportunities available to Hong Kong students as China’s development continues to accelerate and integration within the Greater Bay Area deepens. By understanding the country’s future direction and taking advantage of the region’s strengths in innovation, technology, finance, and professional services, students can better position themselves for success in a rapidly changing world. His message inspired families to think boldly about the future, embrace new opportunities, and actively prepare for the many possibilities available both within the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
The audience remained highly engaged throughout the afternoon, with many parents and students actively participating in the interactive question-and-answer sessions. The lively discussions and exchange of ideas reflected the strong interest in both topics and created a vibrant atmosphere of learning and sharing. Participants left the seminar with fresh perspectives, practical knowledge, and greater confidence in supporting their daughters’ personal growth, emotional well-being, and future aspirations.
