Briefing Session for Team Leaders (04.12.2021)

St. Paul’s Convent School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) recruits parent volunteers and team leaders every year to support the School and PTA activities held in the academic year. Due to the unstable pandemic situation, PTA is obligated to follow COVID-19 safety measures to minimize large group gatherings.

This year we are pleased to have invited 12 team leaders to a Briefing Session which was held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at G7 of the School.

Mrs Zoie Chow, Chairlady of PTA, welcomed all team leaders and thanked them for their commitment and assistance to PTA.  She introduced the new Executive Committee (“ExCo”) members for the year 2021/2022 and summarized the activities conducted by PTA in recent years.

Ms. Annette Lau, Vice-Chairlady of PTA, briefed the team leaders on the aims and functions of the Parent Volunteers Programme, in particular their roles and responsibilities as team leaders. Ms. May Hau presented her experience in coordinating parent volunteers’ participation during previous Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival. Ms. Candy Luk and Ms. Doris Ko also shared their experience and thoughts of their participation to other PTA events and activities, such as the SPCS PTA Community Service Programme and the Community Chest Dress Casual Day.

PTA values collaboration, communication and cooperation from all our PTA members. During the meeting, team leaders were encouraged to brainstorm, share and suggest ideas to identify options in planning of PTA events and activities.

Last but not least, Ms. Maria Hui promoted and encouraged team leader to advocate members to participate in working for the Rooftop Garden of the school followed by a tour of it.

Even during the most difficult time, SPCS PTA strives to create a sense of community amongst parents, students and School. Support from team leaders and parent volunteers are vital to the success of the school and PTA activities. We see the partnership with parents as the key to PTA and our students’ success. Let’s all be grateful and stay positive to embrace another successful year ahead!
