The 19th Annual General Meeting of St. Paul’s Convent School Parent-Teacher Association (SPCS PTA) (25.10.2025)

The 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the St. Paul’s Convent School Parent-Teacher Association (SPCS PTA) took place on October 25, 2025, in Room G7. We were honored to welcome our Honorary Legal Advisor, Ms. Gigi Mak, along with Honorary Members Ms. Joanna Tong.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome from our Masters of Ceremony, Ms. Karen Law and Mr. Leroy Lam. Our chairperson, Ms. Jennifer Lam, presented the Chairman’s report, highlighting the activities organized by the SPCS PTA over the past year, including several special events to celebrate our school’s 170th anniversary.

Our treasurer, Dr. Anne Chang, presented the financial summary, highlighting that the majority of the income came from membership fees and the 170th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign. With the positive result of the fundraising campaign, the PTA plans to donate HKD 500,000 to St. Paul’s Convent School to support the construction of MakerSpace (in celebration of 170th Anniversary).

We were also pleased to have the Executive Committee members from 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 terms in attendance. Ms. Jennifer Lam, the re-elected chairlady for the new term, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Principal Rev. Sr. Margaret (absence with apologies), PTA Executive Committee members, co-opt members, honorary members, teachers, PTA members, and parent volunteers for their invaluable support and contributions. She also thanked departing committee members Ms. Annette Lau, Ms. Bonnie Chan, and Ms. Carey Tsui for their dedicated service over the years.

We were honored to host Ms. Choy Shan Shan, a Clinical Psychologist and mindfulness teacher, for an insightful talk titled “What’s She Really Thinking? Cracking the Code of Your Teen Girl.” Ms. Choy shared her extensive experience in helping teenagers navigate various life stressors. She provided an in-depth look at the emotional shifts of teenage girls, the impact of social media stress, and school pressures. Additionally, she offered practical tips for parents on how to better engage with their daughters emotionally. The session encouraged parents to reflect on their understanding of their daughters’ communication styles, leading to an engaging discussion with many questions raised.
